- 1-13×20 piece of medium weight cotton fabric for main
- 1-13×6 pieces of medium weight cotton fabric for flap
- 1-13×26 piece of medium weight cotton fabric for lining
- 1-13×26 piece of medium weight fusible interfacing
- Matching thread
- Sewing pins or clips
- Scissors
- Cutting mat and ruler
- Measuring tape
- Iron
How To Make An Envelope Clutch Purse
I start every project by washing, drying, and pressing my fabric. This helps my stitches not pull out later because the fabric shrank in the wash. Next, cut your fabric as stated in the supply list above. Pin or clip the main fabric and flap pieces right sides together, and using a 3/8” seam allowance, sew pieces together.
Using a warm iron, press open your seams. Attach your interfacing, shiny or bumpy side down, to the wrong side of the outside clutch piece. Use a warm iron to press it into the fabric.
