We have a bright and happy yellow dresser makeover to share with you. It was one of the first pieces of furniture we purchased after totaling our RV and moving into a house rather suddenly. It was tucked away in a booth at an indoor flea market. Initially, we asked the seller about a counter height table in the same booth. He named a price of $10.00 for the table, and our eyes lit up. The seller was in a hurry to clear out the space, and we were happy to help him with that. We took as much as we could fit in our minivan – the table with two stools, this dresser, and an additional armchair – all for a grand total of $25.00!
Yellow Dresser Makeover
The dresser became a TV stand in the living room where it stood untouched for several months. The finish was in good condition and pretty if you like a traditional style. If you know us, you know that we are anything but traditional though.
When the weather turned cold, Dave began looking for projects to complete indoors. The yellow dresser makeover was an obvious project to start with since it is the center of the living area. He asked me what color to paint it while I was working on a quilt. I cut a swatch of the mustard yellow fabric with white polka dots from the quilt and asked him to match it.
It was a bold choice that turned out awesome. The unique hardware got a fresh coat of oil rubbed bronze spray paint to brighten them up. They really pop against the mustard yellow background.
The yellow dresser makeover is the first thing you see when walking in the front door offering a cheerful welcome. The color is vibrant and fun without being too crazy, and we are very pleased with how it turned it out.
Now Dave is on a mission to paint all the furniture in the house. Bring on the color!
