We are bringing you something new! I love all the skirts and dresses, but today we are bringing you this Free Women’s Jumpsuit Pattern & Sewing Tutorial! How cute is this?! I love jumpsuits. When my sewing friend, Debbie, showed me this pattern, I knew I had to make this. You can make this for a fraction of what they can cost in-store and this one will fit perfectly thanks to the included free pattern. Jumpsuits look great no matter your shape. I love wearing jumpsuits. They are perfect when I am lounging around the house or even when I need to run some errands around town. They are easy to dress up for a night out as well. I used a solid color fabric, but you could use a cute print fabric to really make yours pop! This fun sewing project is a great project for someone who wants to make something besides cute tops and skirts. Don’t get me wrong, I love them all, but there is something about this jumpsuit pattern that I just love. I recommend something with a 50% 4-way stretch so you’ll be comfortable in your jumpsuit all day long.
This one-piece is a perfect layering piece and will take you through seasonal changes. I like to layer this with a cardigan when the weather gets chilly So pick out your fabric and let’s get started!

This women’s jumpsuit pattern has layers so that you can choose to print only the size you need. To achieve this Adobe Reader must be installed on your machine or device. Adobe Reader allows you to click on the layers icon which will show you each size with an eyeball beside it. Click on the eyeball beside the size you do not want to print.
Before printing check that your printer is set to No scaling or Actual size. Set the Page orientation to Auto or Portrait. And then print page 1. Measure the 2” test square to see if it measures exactly 2”. If it does, print the remaining pages.
Cut off the right and top margins of each printed page before assembling the pattern. You can use tape or school glue to adhere your paper pattern together.
After the pages have been printed and trimmed as instructed above, use the quarter circles located at the corner of each page for perfect alignment. When done your pattern should look like this:

Free Women’s Jumpsuit Pattern & Sewing Tutorial
Start this free women’s jumpsuit pattern sewing tutorial by washing and drying your fabric. This helps preshrink your fabric and prepares it for washing later so that your stitches don’t pull out or fray the first time you wash it. Plus, it helps make the fabric super soft. Once you have done this, use your pattern to cut out your fabric pieces.
Once you have the pieces cut out and place you front bodice right sides together on top of the back bodice.
Now on this free women’s jumpsuit pattern sewing tutorial, it’s time to sew. Sew the side seam and the shoulder seam of the bodice. I used a serger, but you can use a regular sewing machine if that is what you have.
Next, we will work on the pant legs. Pin the two pants pieces right sides together at the crotch.
Sew both crotch curves on the pants using a 3/8″ seam allowance.
Next on this free women’s jumpsuit pattern sewing tutorial, we will work on the waistband pieces. Take the pieces you cut out from the pattern and pin and sew them right sides together at the short ends. Repeat for the other set of waistband pieces.
Now that the waistband pieces have been sewn. Pin them so that they are wrong sides together. Next, pin the bodice piece to the waistband.
Sew the waistband to the bodice. The waistband is smaller than the bodice so you may have to stretch it a bit to fit. We are about halfway through this free women’s jumpsuit pattern sewing tutorial!
Rearrange the pants so that the crotch seams are in the center front and center back. Pin the pants at the inseam.
It’s time to sew them together. Sew the inseam of the pants using a 3/8″ seam allowance.
Next on this free women’s jumpsuit pattern sewing tutorial, we will work on joining the top and the bottom together. Divide the bodice into quarters. To do this, place pins at the side seams and in the center of the front and back of each piece.
Repeat this step for the pants. Now, turn the pants wrong sides out, and the bodice right sides out. Put the bodice inside the pants and align the hem of the bodice with the waist of the bands matching the side seams and quarter marks.
Now, sew the bodice to the pants where you have pinned using a 3/8″ seam allowance.
Next on this free women’s jumpsuit pattern sewing tutorial, we will work on finishing the hems. Fold the neck, armholes and pants leg 1/2” to the wrong sides and pin.
For the last step in this tutorial, simply sew the leg, armhole, and neckline with a stretch stitch like a zig-zag stitch to finish them off.
And that’s it! Now you know how to make a women’s jumpsuit! This cute and comfy jumpsuit is the perfect outfit for lounging around or running errands. Wear it on a date or on a road trip. Pick out some cute fabric and make your own today!
