The closest Red Lobster is over an hour away, so we learned how to make them at home. This cheddar biscuit recipe comes together rather quickly, and you probably already have the ingredients on hand.
Ingredients for Copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits
- 2 c flour
- 2.5 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 c shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 tbsp cold butter
- 1.5 c milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp parsley
Yield: 12-14 cheddar biscuits
How to Make Red Lobster Copycat Cheddar Biscuits
Preheat oven to 415 degrees.
Place half a stick of butter in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Don’t let it totally freeze, just harden a bit.
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, garlic, and parsley together in a large bowl.
Remove chilled butter from the freezer and dice it into small pieces. Tip: Shred the butter with a cheese grater to make it easier to incorporate.
Incorporate cold butter into the flour mix with a fork, pastry knife or your own two hands. You want it to resembles coarse crumbs. Confession: I didn’t know what a pastry knife was when I was learning how to make these. Here’s the link in case you don’t know either. Don’t be embarrassed!
Stir in shredded cheese.
Make a small well in the center of the flour and cheese mixture. Add milk, and stir with a fork to combine.
Drop the biscuit dough in heaping spoonfuls two inches apart onto parchment paper or an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits turn golden brown.
Cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
